]]> Fri, 30 Oct 2009 13:58:25 -0400 Philip on benefit http://www.asispgh.org/forum/membership-questions/benefit/#p11 Membership Questions http://www.asispgh.org/forum/membership-questions/benefit/#p11 Bill, participating in the local chapter couldn't hurt.  We have hundreds of members in the area, and our monthly chapter meetings range in size from 15 (the smallest I've attended) to 50 or 60.  The group covers a wide variety of job descriptions, so I can't really tell you how many of them might purchase such products.  Why don't you plan on stopping by a meeting at the Spaghetti Warehouse sometime.  They are held on the third Friday of the month (typically) at lunch.

It is a forum that brings together security professionals to further their common goals and to share experiences and best practices. Our chapter represents the entire spectrum of security professionals, and is composed of nearly 225 security practitioners, security services providers, vendors and students, as well as Federal, State and local law enforcement. The Chapter organizes and provides a number of services and events, to include:
  • Monthly luncheon meetings to which a variety of speakers are invited covering a wide range of security related topics.
  • An annual golf outing at a local country club and special holiday festivity at years end.
  • Bi-annual seminars to educate and train members in matters appropriate to today's security needs.
  • Our Chapter holds its own CPP Study group review courses and at a discounted rate subsidized by the chapter. The CPP review courses benefit members interested in furthering their professional careers and expertise.
