On Wednesday, November 3, 2010, the ASIS International Pittsburgh Chapter will host our annual Law Enforcement Appreciation Night at the Sheraton Station Square in Pittsburgh, PA from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm.

We are seeking nominations of personnel in your department or organization who are examples of excellence in the law enforcement or security field. The ASIS Pittsburgh Chapter generally recognizes law enforcement and security officers under the categories of:

· Ultimate Sacrifice – Death or Injury in the Line of Duty

· Outstanding Law Enforcement Officer or Security Professional – Specific Act

· Outstanding Law Enforcement Officer or Security Professional – Career

Our nomination form is enclosed. Please take a moment to review the nomination form and consider the personnel in your department or organization. Nominations for Ultimate Sacrifice or Specific Act categories will be accepted for incidents which occurred between September 1, 2009 and August 31, 2010. Nominations for the Career category are not limited by any specific timeframe. Nominations are due on or before Friday, October 8, 2010.

If you wish to nominate an individual(s) for consideration, please complete the attached form for each nominee and return it to William Johnson at via fax at 412-544-8062 or via email to william.johnson@highmark.com on or before Friday, October 8, 2010. The Law Enforcement Appreciation Night Committee will review all nominations and notify honorees and their command officers or managers of their selection on or about Monday, October 18, 2010. Honorees and their command officers or managers will be invited to attend the Law Enforcement Appreciation Night at the Sheraton Station Square on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 to accept their awards.

We are also contacting all ASIS Pittsburgh Chapter members to encourage your participation in the 2010 ASIS Pittsburgh Chapter Law Enforcement Appreciation Night by being a Corporate Sponsor of the event.

As you know, this event is a unique opportunity for corporate and private security industry professionals and public law enforcement administrators to meet, network, provide recognition of excellence, and improve cooperation between public agencies and private businesses.

There are several ways that you or your company may participate as a sponsor for this event. You or your company may sponsor a table at the event at a cost of Seven Hundred Dollars ($700.00). Registration and remittance are due by Wednesday, October 20, 2010. By sponsoring a table, you or your company will receive official recognition as a Corporate Sponsor in the event program and sponsorship signage on your table. Should you or your company sponsor a table, you will receive eight (8) tickets to invite attendees of your choice to the event. Two (2) seats at your table will be assigned to special VIP invitees by the Law Enforcement Appreciation Night Committee. VIP invitees will include local or regional police chiefs; command officers; special agents in charge of the local FBI, BATFE, and U.S. Secret Service; the U.S. Marshal; the Allegheny County District Attorney; and others in the law enforcement community.

Should you decide that a full table sponsorship is more of a commitment than you wish to make, you or your company may also sponsor individual tickets for law enforcement officers or private security professionals at a cost of Seventy-Five Dollars ($75) for each sponsorship. You may specify an individual that you are sponsoring, or you may allow the Law Enforcement Appreciation Night Committee to assign your sponsorship(s) to deserving law enforcement officers and private security professionals from your area. You or your company will receive official recognition for your Individual Sponsorship in the event program.

For Corporate Sponsorships, please respond no later than Wednesday, October 20, 2010. Please complete the attached registration form for your sponsorship and send it to the address below along with a check in the appropriate amount. Your check should be made payable to “ASIS Pittsburgh Chapter”.
